iCoachkids Conference

Sport Ireland Coaching is proud to announce that we will be hosting the 3rd iCoachKids International Conference.

The conference is scheduled for June 14th & 15th 2019 at the University of Limerick under the theme “Child Centred Coaching”.

The website is up and running. It will be updated with new information on a continuous basis right up to the event.

INTERPROVINCIAL MANAGEMENT CO-ORDINATORS

The Munster Branch is seeking to appoint two interprovincial management co-ordinators, one for the boys side and one for the girls side. Below is a role description. If you are interested in helping out please contact Sally at secretary@munsterhockey.com

INTERPROVINCIAL MANAGEMENT CO-ORDINATOR ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Interprovincial Management Team consists of Head Coach, Assist. Coach, Goal Keeping Coach and Manager.

Pre-Tournament:

1. An induction meeting to be arranged for the Interprovincial Management teams with the Branch Chairperson, Treasurer, Children’s Officer and Equipment Officer.

2. Arrange regular meetings with Interprovincial Managersduring preparation for the tournament.

3. Arrange with the Equipment Officer to deliver the trainingequipment and first aid kits to the Interprovincial managers.

4. Liaise with Interprovincial managers and Branch Treasurer on matters relating to finance such as pitch hire.

5. The Interprovincial managers to liaise directly with the Children’s Officer on matters relating to Child Welfare.

6. Link between the Interprovincial managers and appointed physio.

7. Arrange with the Interprovincial managers for the squads to meet with the appointed nutritionist.

8. Arrange with the Interprovincial managers for the squads to meet with the appointed S & C.

9. Ensure that Interprovincial managers place gear order within the time frame.

10. Link between Interprovincial managers and Branch Treasurer on tournament accommodation and transport requirements.

11. Arrange a date for the physio to meet with the squads before departing for the tournament.

12. Arrange a date with U-16 Interprovincial managers for the squads to have a session with the Munster Hockey Umpires Coaching.

Post Tournament:

1) Post Tournament, ensure that the first aid kits and all playing equipment is collected and returned to the Equipment Officer.

2) Attend debrief

Munster U18 Girls Trial

The trial that had to be cancelled has been rescheduled to take place this Saturday (2nd March) from 6-8pm in Crescent College Comprehensive, Dooradoyle, Limerick. Players attending this trial are reminded to bring their completed form and €5 for pitch hire. Anyone unavailable to attend this trial is asked to let us know by emailing munsteru18girls@gmail.com. Those who were already at the Cork trial do not need to attend this one. If you have any questions please contact munsteru18girls@gmail.com.

Munster U18 Boys 2019

Head coach Ashley Smith is inviting schools & clubs to nominate players to trial for the Munster U18 Boys 2019 squad by emailing each player’s name & parent/guardians email to munsteru18boys2019@gmail.com. The deadline for nominations is Fri 22nd February. Players born in 2002 or 2003 are eligible to trial.

Munster U18 Girls Trials

We will be running two trials, one in Cork and one in Limerick. Players nominated to trial by their school/club only need to attend one of these trials. Players are asked to bring €5 to cover pitch hire etc. Players must also bring the completed form which has been emailed to schools and clubs or can be received by emailing munsteru18girls@gmail.com. Can schools/clubs find out which trial their nominated players would like to attend and let us know by emailing munsteru18girls@gmail.com. Below is the information for the two trials:

Cork Trial

Sunday 17th February 6pm-8pm, Garryduff Sports Centre

Limerick Trial

Saturday 23rd February 5pm-7pm, Crescent College Comprehensive, Dooradoyle
